I don't chart, so please try to give me information without telling me to chart. If I don't get pregnant after a few more months of trying, I'll chart.
I started TTC #2 in October, started using OPK's in November. My cycle jumped a week late to 36 days in December, which caused me to miss out on ovulating in December.
I have been using OPK's starting with my old cycle, just to be safe, and have yet to get a positive, but this past weekend, I did have EWCM and a bit of spotting. We did have sex during these days, just in case, but I still can't get a positive on the OPK's.
I guess I am just looking for some insight and does anyone have any experience with ovulating but not getting an OPK to register it? I think we'll keep doing every other day this week to be safe, but any thoughts would be helpful.
To add another factor: I weaned my baby in late December (we were down to one feed a day, no pumping) so that likely threw some different hormone amounts into the mix.
If you stopped BF in Dec you may not be ovulating. (I don't have kids so take my advise with that in mind) But my SIL doesn't ovulate (she charts) when she is BF.
If you don't want to start charting I would wait a month or so after stopping BF before you worry about not ovulating.
I've been testing 2x a day and letting it sit for 30 minutes, per instructions. It's the wondfo's I believe--blue package, buy 40 plus 10 pregnancy tests on Amazon.
I did get positives for three days in November, but it apparently didn't take for me that time. I am just confused because I am getting the physical signs, so I worry that the tests aren't registering for me.
I don't use OPKs, but getting positives for three days is weird, no?
I'm going to try the digital ones next cycle because I imagine that trying to decipher the Wondfos would make me ca-razy.
Oh, there's some crazy here. No question, thus my turning internet strangers for any tidbit of information.
I posted about the three days here too and was told that it wasn't that crazy, since it just means the hormone is present and that ovulation is coming. So maybe I just had the hormone build up for a couple of days before actually ovulating? I really don't know.
You can't know if you ovulated or if you didn't without taking your temp. You may have a positive opk and not ovulate. When was your last period? Have you taken a pregnancy test just in case?
I'm sorry to say but the only way to know if you are truly ovulating is temping. Last month I had EWCM a positive OPK but no temperature shift at all. So I didn't ovulate. You can get a positive OPK (at least by TCOYF) when your body is ramping up to ovulate but then you may not ovulate. Hence the name ovulation predictor kit.

Are you sure you are using the correct instructions? Wondfos should be read at 5 minutes, not 30.
I'm letting the urine sample sit out for 30 minutes, per the instructions. The test is read after 5 minutes. I got a definite positive this morning, so hopefully everything works!
That is depressing information that you can get a positive OPK and have physical signs and still not ovulate. I hope that isn't the case. If need be, I'll begin to temp in another month or so.

I don't think with wondfos your urine has to sit for 30 minutes prior to testing. I pee in the cup, dip, and check back 5 minutes later, and have gotten positives every month. I don't think it hurts anything, but I don't think it is necessary either, and will save you some time.
