Why are these people going to see their brother's wife's cousin who works somewhere with an ultrasound machine just to get a free scan to find out LO's sex? This is so baffling to me. We even had one broad who's relative works at a breast cancer center or some shit who had one done there. WTF? Lucy - you need to come flame people. For realsies.
I'm sure in a few weeks, July will be doing this, as well. I'm excited to find out what we're having, but call me crazy, I can wait until the A/S. Edit: Although, I would probably do an elective U/S if H was on board with it, but he's not. I don't get going to an ER to find out if I'm having a boy or a girl three weeks early.

Oh totally...they'll be all over it. I think I've seen posts about finding out at the NT scan already. I know people that have gone to the elective u/s place and paid for it, but yeah not finagling a free u/s just to find out what I'd find out at 20 weeks anyway.
I've seen a few posts over there where people say they're cramping or spotting so the ER will give them an ultrasound. So gross.
Honestly, I guess I get why people go to elective ultrasound places. But it's amazing to me that you REALLY just can't wait the 4 weeks (or LESS) to find out what the kid is AND if it's healthy or not. And it's not like I wasn't DYING to know... but in the grand scheme of an entire child's lifetime, what does the difference of 2 weeks make.
I especially wanted to strangle the people BEGGING their dr's offices to schedule their A/S appt for before Christmas (even if it put them well before 18 weeks) so they could make some giant announcement about the sex on Christmas day. I love the posts where people are PISSSSSED that their dr's wont schedule the A/S appt for anything earlier than 20 weeks. Or the people who get pissed that the US tech wont venture a guess during their NT scan.
I found out at 21 weeks. Not even 20 weeks. And I didn't die.
I would have gone to an elective place, but H said no way. I'm just a generally impatient person in general though - he's learned not to drop hints about presents because it drives me CRAZY. I'd rather just not know it's coming, thanks. But going to the ER and claiming bleeding or getting an U/S done at a cancer place is just stupid and bizarre. If you're impatient, pay for it. Don't scam it.
