I love my diamond studs. They may have been $$, but I wear them every single day. I spice it up with necklaces, though my go to necklace is a simple silver Tiffany necklace.
I pretty much only wear sliver and white gold. Semiprecious stones for the most part.
Honestly, I didn't realize adults wore so much costume jewelry until I came to these boards. Not judging! A lot of it is cute stuff, I just don't see it much in real life. Maybe because my dad used to be a jeweler and my mom only wears real jewelry? I didn't even have much costume jewelry as a kid.
Eta: while all my stuff is "real", I don't have a lot of very expensive jewelry, just mid-priced pieces.
I'm not a fan of real jewerly, other than my wedding ring and some diamond studs. I eventually want larger studs, but I will probably never have any other fancy jewerly.

I'm not big into accessories, but I wear diamond cluster studs, a diamond pendant and my wedding set everyday.
My husband is currently on his way to pick up my new right hand ring from bring fitted. It is "white sapphire" so it's fake, but sparkly and I love it.
My stuff is a mixture as well. Most days I wear my ering, diamond studs, and David yurman bracelet. Then almost all my necklaces are fake stuff from Stella Dot, eBay, etsy, etc.
I have a decent sized collection that's a wide mix and wear a combo of it all.
Most of my real stuff were gifts from my parents. I mostly wear my diamond or pearl studs, e-ring/wedding band or pearls. I have a bit of Tiffany Silver - MH tends to like to gift that. Then I have some aquamarine pieces from a local jeweler and some pieces that I've picked up while traveling - one of my favorite pieces is a silver magnolia flower pendant I bought in Belgium.
The rest is a mix of stuff from Etsy and the local bead shop with a little Lily Pullitzer/Stella & Dot/Lia Sophia.
I wear the same everyday. I almost never take off my rings, my watch, or my necklace. I don't have any play jewelry, but its mostly because I suck at matching accessories. So instead i have a few nice pieces that are classic and neutral.
I do have two fancy necklaces and two fancy sets of earrings that are heirlooms. I wear those to nice events.
I have several real pieces, but like Pamela mentioned, they don't have much visual impact.
I generally range from higher end fashion jewelry (Kate Spade, etc) and really cheap stuff. I have had good luck with some fashion jewelry lasting a really long time and being high quality.
I do need a nicer watch at some point--I have 3, Citizen, Skagen and Bullova and the latter two which are the most wearable styles are scratched to hell.
I've always been curious as to what the employee discount is at Tiffany. I might not want to know though, that might be too "painful" to see.
My company gets a business discount of 15% at Tiffany's, but only on business related stuff like card holders, awards, etc. So H buys gift cards at 15% off online then goes to the store to buy whatever.
I am curious too what the actual employees get off. When I worked in a jewelry store (years ago in college), I got 30% off the customers lowest price. I don't think Tiffany employees get that much off though. The prices are high but when you look at the quality of their pieces...it's priced pretty fairly.
I posted the info above. If I remember correctly, it was 30% off some things and 50% off others; you can only buy one engagement ring ever, but at 50% off; and there is an employee store that has even deeper discounts on discontinued and imperfect items.
Some of my everyday jewelry is very inexpensive, I wear a plain wedding band, earrings from clearance sales or Old Navy. Everyone assumes my shiny stuff is real though, I love the pave diamond look. I wear a nicer watch, and a gold diamond pendant on a chain that my grandmother bought me years ago. That said, I have a ton of the real stuff. Some is very delicate so I don't tend to wear them much. The bigger stuff is more in your face and would be weird to wear everyday. If I have my sapphire ring on people would ask me why I have two engagement rings or why its on my right hand. They hang out in a safe most of the time. A lot of it has senitmental value to it, like my diamond studs for HS graduation, stuff my grandparents bought me, all my Sapphire jewelry my mom gave me and my diamond wedding band/ering, wedding pearls, among other things DH gave me. DH just got me a diamond watch for my birthday, which is today. I really don't want any more expensive pieces, but a watch is always handy. I guess I'm more worried about losing the expensive stuff?

WOW!! That's awesome! I wonder if my local store needs some extra help on the weekends haha.
(I'm not sure how I missed your post about it...that's what I get for skimming )
I'm not very good at accessorizing. So, I have a real white gold, sapphires and diamond necklace that I have worn every day for the past 10 years. It's not much, but it's pretty.
I will be replacing it soon with something different, but also real. I will most likely wear it every day for years to come. I can easily justify the price of real vs fake since it's something I wear every day.
