My top two favorite hotels so far are the Four Seasons Seattle (because we got married there) and the Four Seasons Bora Bora. Other hotels we've stayed at that I really loved include:
Hotel de Paris, Monte-Carlo, Monaco Lizard Island, Australia (for location more than rooms) Longitude 131 at Uluru, Australia Blanket Bay Lodge, Glenorchy, New Zealand Four Seasons Hotel, Maui
The Greenwich mommies think Four Seasons is better than Ritz.
Thats not even the best part. You walk in and there are crystals just dripping from the ceiling. The spa is fan-tastic. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm dying to go again.

The best part about the hotel (well one of them) is when we were at dinner and returned to the room, the music was turned on, candles lit, light dimmed and the fireplace on
The room was gorgeous and it is far enough outside of Sedona to be quiet and have fantastic scenery but still within reasonable driving distance to a lot of stuff.
Usually, I'm a Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn type of traveler, but there are three places I've visited that really stand out for me.
The Westin in Venice, Italy. I stayed with a friend who had points so it was free. It was right on the canal, our window had a view, and the bathroom was all marble with a humongous chandelier. Plus those divine beds.
The Elk Cove Inn in Elk, California. The room was just your average b&b, but the food was great and the view was fan-fucking-tastic. Every morning, we would walk down to the beach accompanied by the inn owners' two dogs, who loved to play with the guests.
Finally, if you ever want a cheap place to stay in Tokyo, I highly recommend the Homeikan Ryokan. Such a fun experience for $75 a night! The rooms are super traditional; you can't wear shoes on the tatami mats, you sleep on a roll-out futon, you get a six-course breakfast brought to your room every morning, and the baths are central with a huge, hot pool (you reserve a time for yourself). I guess there are lots of aspects of this experience that would bother most travelers, but we absolutely loved it. Bonus: America's Next Top Models lived there during the Japan season.
The Grand Hotel Amrath in Amsterdam. Absolutely gorgeous, giant art deco windows in the roof, biggest bathrub I've ever seen, our room was gigantic, and we had an entire wall of windows that faced a canal. It was amazing.
I am admittedly not well-traveled, so my hotel experience is limited. But I can't imagine feeling more pampered or relaxed than I did during the week we spent at the 4S.

Also: free minibar.
We just stayed there! We loved it. Great service and nice big room!

Best was probaly our Suite at the Waldorf Astoria but my favorite hotel experience is usually the Hilt Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. The service is great and we get the one bedroom suite with the wrap around balcony. Its fantastic
Our best hotel stay was probably at the J.W. Marriott in Scottsdale. Beautiful room and grounds. They also had this cool thing called the Cloud Club where for $25 a day you could go in after 4:00 p.m. and get drinks and snacks. That paid for itself in drinks, for sure!
I tend to not remember the rooms but remember the overall hotel very well. Another standout is our hotel in London, the Apex Temple Court Hotel. Very cool vibe and outstanding service.

Our favorite hotel is the Poas Lodge in Costa Rica. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's cheap (I think $60 a night?) and dreamy on the inside. The owners are the shit, but they're moving back to South Africa, which is a real bummer because they seriously did magical things to this place.
Yes! Park Hyatt Paris! You will feel like a queen! I wanted to cry when I left. The room itself was not extremely large, but it was so luxurious, and the staff knew your name and catered to your every whim. The concierge got us difficult-to-get reservations on Valentine's Day, no less.
It was truly an extraordinary experience, made even better because we got the room for just $75. When we applied for a Hyatt credit card, we got three free nights anywhere in the world. We looked up the most expensive hotels (Shanghai and Paris), and then we went to Paris. Instead of paying $1,000/night, we paid the $75 annual fee for the credit card. Ta-da!
Hilton Palacio Del Rio on my wedding night in San Antonio. We had a river view room during Christmas season. All the lights on the trees were lit and it was beautiful.

The Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii (Big Island) was definitely the best. We've stayed a lot of great places, some of my other favorites are Hotel Palomar in Chicago, Lorien Hotel and Spa in Alexandria (both Kimptons, which I love - Eventi in NY is good too), The Palms in Miami (one of the better prices in the area and I love their pool/beachfront situation). For historical appeal the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa was pretty awesome, but I can't say I loved the rooms and the upkeep.

You and Mr. Miso need to teach a travel booking course. I am always amazed at your deals!
A beautiful hotel on the San Antonio River Walk. I loved it. Its historic, and beautiful
This is my FAVORITE hotel in San Antonio. A bit pricey so last time we stayed at the Crocket and it was cool. We have also stayed at the Grand Hyatt for the AlamoBowl and then at the Marriott River Center for a cheer competition and both are really nice, I love the Marriott River Center best out of the 2. Besides that we don't really travel. I am staying at the Hilton Fort Worth next weekend and Hotel Anatole next month.
