A co-worker at the restaurant I work at PT is HOT and in her 40s and seriously looks/feels/acts amazing. She's a boxer. She told me last week that I have the build for it and I should do it. I think it sounds like a blast. Have any of you ever boxed?
My typical working out situation is yoga/body weight training (no weights) and running. Peaceful stuff. I'm not usually an aggressive person, but I am really strong and mighty and I think the workout aspect of it is very appealing.
i have never done it. i have considered signing up for kickboxing though!
Her gym has all kinds of Martial Arts. I'm going to a beginner's clinic on Feb 3 (if the Broncos are not in the Super Bowl). Want me to ask her if they have any kickboxing clinics coming up? It's located sort of near downtown, I don't know if that would work for you...?

I LOVE kick boxing. Sadly, I have not been in months and don't see myself going anytime soon. It was such a great workout! The gym that offers it for a decent price near me is about 20 minutes away and with Dh's work schedule and always traveling I just cant do it. It starts right around dd's bedtime too and is not feasible to bring her to the daycare there.

I don't as an adult but my dad was a Golden Gloves and taught me to box/spar with him as a matter of self-defense as a teen. I loved doing it and have seriously thought about returning to it, or even just buying a bag for the garage. It's great conditioning and a fun stress-reliever. I actually used to do it when I was pissed at the ex just to relieve the pent-up anger, stress, frustration, whatever was going on.
I box and have for a few years now. It's 95% conditional, but if i can find a sparring partner, i jump on the opportunity.I have a private trainer and I do it 5 days a week, with one day dedicated to abs and one day dedicated to weights/strength training. On saturday mornings I run 5K's on my own. I have always been athletic growing up and I prefer sports for fitness than just a gym routine. But as I got older, it was harder to find organized sports teams, so this was a great compromise. It has been the only thing that has consistently kept my weight controlled. I'm no size 2, but i'd like to think i'm pretty fit. It is an amazing confidence booster and stress reliever, as pps have mentioned.
