I saw this on the Today show today. It's awful. Those type bottles are a complete pain in the ass to clean anyway. I'm thinking of throwing our two out/Goodwill.

While I think the "your young could get stuck" logic is silly, I think those bottles are stupid. There is no good way to clean them with such narrow mouths. dD uses the BPa free Nalgene kids cup and it is much better with leaks and cleaning than any of the other bottles we have tried. The camel backs leak all over the place and the metal ones end up moldy in the bottom of the car, and I can't get the junk out. Money down the drain. I would be tempted to give older kids a mason jar.
I will say I'm annoyed that her parents are talking about suing. The company (which wasn't named) gave a statement that they had pulled that style of bottle from the shelves.
you can order a bottle brush on Amazon to clean them. to the main point, I would think going with a sport top or sippy top would be easier for most people anyway. I remember having a hard time with suction when I was little and learning to drink out of glass bottles. Just making lots of weird sounds and stuff.

This was the part of the story that got a big WTF from me.
Really? I'm the least litigious person alive and I'd be looking for someone to sue. Sure they are pulling the bottle off the market...it put a kid in the ICU. If it was my kid, I'd want someone to pay.
