No top/bottom coat would chip in 2 days for me. Of course I use a patented slap-polish-in-the-general-vicinity-of-my-toes-and-wash-in-the-shower application method.
I am seriously the queen of chipped polish after 1-2 days. I get really good wear out of Seche Vite, but it shrinks like crrrazy on me. This stuff magically doesn't shrink, dries really fast, and I got a full week out of my polish before I got bored & changed it. I painted my nails Monday, and they still look fresh. Completely unheard of!
YMMV, of course. I have really good luck with Sally Hansen polishes, where OPI chips in less than 24 hours on me. This is def helping my resolution to keep my nails painted
Yes! With the "quick dry" top coats, at least. My routine is to paint 1st layer on all nails, then paint 2nd coat on all nails (no dry time in between beyond the amount of time it took me to paint the other 9 fingers), then immediately follow with the top coat. It penetrates the layers, or something, and dries everything solid.
Before top coats, I'd paint a thin first layer, wait an hour, paint a thin 2nd layer, wait 2 hours, and go to bed. I'd still wake up with sheet marks on my nails. They'd never fully dry. Grr! This is no longer an issue. Changed my life!
