Do you always secure the cargo in the rear? Groceries, strollers, etc? Right now there is nothing in my van but soon I will have a stroller again. I always worry what might happen in the event of an accident with unsecured cargo in the rear.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
No, I think I could use one, but usually I just position the stroller so the groceries don't slide around too much. I also have back row seats that adjusts per seat, so depending on the configuration they can keep things contained.

Yes, the metal grate dividing the cargo area from the passenger area was purchased the same day as the car. It was the first non sedan we had bought and it was a concern to me. I've been grateful for that thing many times as we pack the cargo area quite full on long trips.

Most of the stuff I keep in the car (wagon) is under the floor storage. Same with my pervious SUV. If we are going diving locally I just secure the tanks to the floor bolt latch things with ratchet straps. Lighter things I keep a few bungee cords in and do the same thing, I hate hearing things move around. I do harness the dog in to either the latches in the trunk or the seatbelt, she does move a lot, with braking.
Having been rear ended in a suburban with a fairly full trunk - nothing in the trunk left the trunk, even with the back doors being smooshed. My bag ended up on the floor and things came out of the cup holders. Everything in the trunk was below the level of the backseat.
I don't, but when we have a baby in the backseat, I think I want a cargo net. Stuff stays pretty secure behind the third row, but if we fold those down for more space, it seems to move around more freely. I'd hate for a freak accident to cause a canned good or something to go flying and hit someone.
I don't, but it makes me nervous with DS rear facing back there. I drive a Jeep Cherokee so there's no third row to give some distance from the trunk space. I'll feel better about it when we turn DS's car seat.
I pull the shade over it so I suppose it's secure.
I do the same. The seats and headrests in the back are pretty high too so I'd imagine I'd have to flip the car to have that stuff escape to the front of the vehicle.
