I'm super paranoid, so I will DD this at some point.
Deleted the details, thanks for the input!
What would you do? Should I say something or do I just keep my mouth shut? Either way, I think I am going to take a wait and see approach for at least a week or two.
Also, sorry for the rambling, I am a few glasses of wine in...
How long have you worked there? Do they meet with you yearly about raises? I would be professional and set up a meeting with them discuss a raise and time off. You have to do something to start negotiations.
It's worth it to companies, especially small ones, to keep good employees. Wages and paid time off are good incentives for that. Keep that in mind when your usual timid self feels bad for asking. YOU are doing THEM a good service.
Besides that, go look. You have to be a little smart and motivated to learn your current job. Those are all skills you can apply to a new area. Don't be afreaid to try something new or apply for a job outside of our comfort zone and talk about transferable skills. Nothing beats having a new offer in a negotiation. Go get yourself some options and decided from there.
And there is nothing wrong with getting paid what you agreed to being paid. You seem to be able to afford it. It's their job to keep costs down, and keeping payroll down is a big one. You aren't being "screwed" - you may be underpaid, but it might be worth it to them to get a cheaper worker, even if the quality isn't as good as you. It's a balancing act for everyone.
Can you approach the subject of a raise in both pay and benefits based on the fact you are now certified? They got a deal bc your certification lapsed, but now that you are ceritified, you should be compensated appropriately.
