Okay, this is the stupidest post ever, but if you've already opened it...
The baby's favorite lovey blanket, "Square," went missing on Sunday. I was convinced she left it at my mom's. I looked there for hours today. No luck. But I just got a text and square has been recovered (from the tupperware drawer???). THANK GOD.
Now you can carry on with more interesting things.
When I first started working in the customer service department of the grocery store I work at I had a parent call asking if we had found a blanket. It was the child's favorite thing and she wouldn't go to bed without it. I had them leave their phone number just in case we found it. Not to long after I got off the phone with them one of my coworkers found it and brought it up to me. So I called the family and reunited the blanket with it's owner. They were all so happy it had been found.

"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
She hasn't slept right in days. I've had to sit in her room for half an hour (quietly reading to myself in the corner) to stop the sobs and late night forays.
I've been wading through some "closing up dad's affairs" stuff and we are coming up on the anniversary of his death, so missing square (and my mom's computer also went missing) had led to a little too much drinking. Off to bed!
Edith has two lovies, and they're of equal importance, which sucks when one gets cough medicine spilled on it and needs to be washed right at bedtime. That night she and Baa Baa Black Sheep slept with me while Fuzzy took a bath.

It was rough. She would quietly sob "Fuzzyyyyyyyyy!" every so often when I thought she was asleep. I almost got the sticky bastard out of the washer and let her have him. Also, Baa Baa Black Sheep is a girl. And they're both blankets, not toys.

I will never forget losing my stuffed cat, Penelope, at a motel during a family vacation. The owners shipped it to our home and I remember falling to my knees and weeping when we were reunited.
My dog is so attached to his lovey that when we lost Monster Man I, we frantically ordered a duplicate off ebay so he wouldn't be without it. Also, my dog is the best (Jermys will back this up), but he wouldn't share Monster Man with Edith. She started to play with the stuffed animal and he very, very gingerly took the toy away from her. We need to work on sharing.

yay! that's the worst. i left my teddy bear many places as a kid, it was always a nightmare sob fest. once, i left him at my parents' friends' house, and they had to mail him to us. and the wife poked holes in the box "so he could breathe"...lolol

oh - baba has had to take a bath before. It is brutal. Once she begged for him when I was taking him from the washing machine to the dryer and I gave him to her.
