How is your E-fund allocated?

How much (in dollars) do you keep in cash? How is the non-cash allocated?

10K in cash, 13K in mutual funds.

$11K in our savings account, about $10K in the futures market.

Right now $15k is in ING. Then we have another $10k (last I checked) in savings bonds since they're making a ton more in interest staying as bonds.

$20K in cash. We contribute to a mutual fund but don't think of it as an e-fund, more like medium-term savings (new cars, forever house, etc.)

Ours is pretty minimal for a true e-fund, but I'm comfortable with it. We have about $6k liquid in an AmEx savings account. All our other savings are in stocks and mutual funds.

I can't really think of a situation where we'd need more on very short notice, and we could liquidate stocks if we really needed to. One of these days I need to get more strategic with our savings and investing, but we haven't been great about setting goals, either.
