As I've complained about before my triathlon season has been sidelined by a stress fracture in my foot. One of my fiercest competitors suggested doing a relay so I could compete. We invited another tough woman from our age group and I think we are going to rock it. Turns out each of us is doing the leg we are best at. I'm swimming, our cyclist holds an average 22-23 mph on the bike and I think our runner can do a sub 20 minute 5k.
Only downside is i have just been swimming laps. No speed work or intervals because the dr didn't want me pushing offof the wall with my foot. Also I'm still nervous about running at all so I'm worried about running from the water to the transition. Last thing I want to do is injure it all over again!
Other good news is I only lost money on one race I had registered for. One race refunded my money after I sent a dr's note and the big race the 1/2 ironman let me defer my entry to next year. Almost unheard of!!
I don't know if you saw my post in the vents/cofessions thread, but I might have a stress fracture in my foot as well Just waiting on the X-ray results. How long have you been sidelined by yours?
I didn't see it. It sucks. I just got out of my walking boot after 6 weeks of being in it. I wasn't cleared to do anything but swim. Some here have said they were allowed to do spin classes but my doc said no. I'm going to give it two more weeks before starting back to slowly run. Too many on here have said they made theirs chronic. It is still kind of tender but that very well could be in my head!
