Now that we should get our loan stuff back tomorrow and be able to lock in next week the interest rates are going up. They have been at 3.375% since mid-December. They are only at 3.5% right now, so hopefully they stay nice for a few more days. Same thing happened when we bought last time. Rates stayed at 5.5% until a week or so before we locked and then they went to 5.875%. Dumb. Can anyone commiserate. You know, misery loves company and all that.
P.S. I am still super thrilled with 3.5% but I would rather have 3.375%.
we closed in November and we could lock in 45 days out. on day 46 it was 3.25, we called the seller and asked if she could move us up a day so we could lock in blah blah blah. she did say yes, the next day when she answered and the rates had gone back up to 3.375 they never dropped back down to 3.25 again.
lol that I actually care about the difference in those two which such a low rate it just like come on now! one day!!
That stinks. I was really lucky and got in on the 3.25 by chance.
:Y: Same. I think it's totally normal to want the lowest possible, even though rationally you know .125% will not be much of a difference in what you pay.
When we went under contract last April rates were 4.125% - high for that time. We had to lock by a certain date and the rates didn't change before then, so that's where we locked. The very next day, they started falling. Insanely annoying.
