This isn't very exciting, but I don't care to see Les Mis. I never have seen it but I don't really like musicals. DH's family (with him as the exception) are all very musical and it has come up at EVERY family function for the last several months. I just smile and nod.

I realized that not only do I not judge crazy/tacky/whatever stuff, I embrace it. I love tacky stuff. And I get much entertainment value from random craziness.
I think people who choose to live in areas with limited natural resources (such as Phoenix) are selfish. On a related note, I generally dislike Arizonans. That's not so much an opinion, though; more an unpopular over-generalized thought.
Not having a daily random will increase my number of random posts. You have been warned.
I think that's okay!
Randoms can be interesting, but they can sometimes be a series of long and uninteresting posts (certainly many of which are by me) so it can be hard to read through for the interesting ones (am I the only one who never gets past like the first 5 posts?), and I kind of hate when someone posts something really sad in them because it then becomes a long string of "I'm so sorry (}) "s and no-one is heartless enough to then post something funny or whatever afterwards.

I've thought this for a long time, but wouldn't have ever written it out in fear of getting told I'm a horrible person. (I do not think you're a horrible person for saying it.) Maybe that's your UO? Or flammable confession? Way better than the apple thing. :drink:

So you don't think I'm heartless, I do usually feel bad for the people. But it is kind of a threadkiller.
UO: I enjoyed the drama caused by the shared/ universal anonymous screen name on MM back on TN.
I wasn't on MM back then, but I probably would have enjoyed that.
I remember a post where people vaguely posted things about other people without mentioning their names, and that was good clean fun (though I was pretty new then so I didn't get the vast majority of them).

Signed,
Currently eating an unwashed apple!
Oh, we're on the same page. I also feel bad, but yeah, sadness has ruined many a promising thread. I just figured if I said that here, it would get misconstrued as "I don't give a shit about your sob stories," which isn't the case. I just wish they'd stay separate from the funnies or drama.

I remember this. I was new too but thought it was intriguing.

I  you. I feel the exact same way. I love tacky shit.

Is it ok to visit a place with limited natural resources as long as you don't stay too long, or are the visitors selfish too?

When I lived in London, I got so BLOODY TIRED of seeing this musical. I have no desire to see the "new" movie.
Also, I agree with v about the whole long strings of boo hoo in this type of post, when I want something new. Not to diminish people's problems, but starting a new post might be more benficial.

I felt guilty visiting Moab. Especially swimming in the outdoor community pool. It is SO dry there naturally. Water is precious.

That's actually a pretty popular opinion.
Sure, water is limited, but people actually use far less energy per person in the Southwest than in the Northeast. It takes FAR more energy to heat from zero to 68 than to cool from 110 to 72. Most people in Arizona keep the AC at 80, and many have evap for non-monsoon season.
Climate change is a much bigger deal than the dropping water table in Arizona.
I never read randoms. They may as well be titled "boring shit no one cares about."
If I have something to say, I'm a big enough aw to post my own thread. I mean, what's the point of posting if I am not getting attention and responses?
In the spirit of faux calling people out, there are a couple posters on mmm who I used to like a lot but they make me want to punch my own face repeatedly since becoming pregnant or moms.
Is it me? Hmm. In thinking about it I already had kids before I was here so probably not then...

Lol. Fool, your kids are too old for you to count! I've always liked you :-)
Insomnia induced brain fart And right back atcha! Oh and I agree about some of the posts on MMM. There is just so much posting about things I just never gave a crap about while pregnant or having infants, etc.
