and since the board's pretty quiet, I think I'll share...
I have decided that DS and I are making his valentines for all of his friends at daycare this year. So, at lunch today I bought some 2" wooden hearts; red, white and pink paint; and some red ribbon at the craft store. This is enough to do a heart for each person (with a few extras) and only cost me about $6!!
I figure I'm just going to let him paint each one however he wants and then I'll put some varnish on them and we'll write a person's name on each one.
So, fellow crafty people, should I paint the hearts white first and let him go nuts with the red and pink? Or should I leave them natural and let him do it all himself?
I'm hoping that starting this project early will give us enough time to get them all done without DS getting bored, and give me some time to finish painting my latest project without his "help".

That's kind of what I was thinking, but I know that he'll be all over it when he see's me get my brushes out and leaving them natural would allow him to jump in right away.

Not that I can think of, but maybe I can come up with something.
I'll probably just end up painting a few of them after he goes to bed and letting them dry overnight. That way tomorrow he can start his painting and I can finish getting the rest ready. He'll probably lose interest for the night after doing a few anyway.

I'll make sure to post a picture when they're done. I got a coat of white on them last night, but I think they'll need at least one more before they're ready for DS to paint.
