Maybe this would be another thread to consider.
Truth. When you get a new puppy, the first week, other family members will help you take it out and feed it. But then the default goes to, always, the mom. You can ask the DH and the kids to help you and they will, but you are the CEO.
Truth. Your kids homework is on the mom too. Yes they do it and yes, husband will help when asked. But let it be known, my husband does not wake up in a cold panic on Friday mornings about the word work sheet the second grader needs to turn in or the reading log due for the kindergarten child.
Truth. Every December you will gain five pounds. Even if you work out and even if you are fairly careful. And every January you will bemoan the scale but thinking back, you wouldn't give up the delicious perfection of homemade sugar cookies with buttercream or eggnog so you almost start to love those five pounds. It's strange.
Truth. Big difference when I get sick vs DH getting sick. He camps out on the couch whining that he is sick in case I forgot. When I get get sick, I should workout more and where is dinner?
