Do you like to throw holiday parties? Superbowl parties?
Or, do you like to have people over a lot? Do a lot of dinner parties?
I wish we did this more often. I love an excuse to have a lot of people over, but I can rarely get H to agree to it. He's very concerned with the fact that our place is so small.
I keep suggesting to him that we could have a Superbowl party, but he's not particularly interested. I don't even care about football. I just wanted to have a bunch of friends over and have fun.
Maybe I'll wait and push for a Memorial Day BBQ or a 4th of July party. He's more inclined to agree if he can grill, and people can be outside.

My place is tiny and I've had two parties since I moved in two weeks ago. Most of my friends do not have children, so we get together quite a bit. Usually dinner parties. For my birthday, 10 or so friends and I are having a Sweet 16 X 2 slumber party.
I find that having people over for dinner is the best way to keep in regular touch with friends, and it's really fun.

Yes, we are big party throwers. We throw a party at the holidays, when school starts, for birthdays, etc. We just find an excuse to party. We are throwing an Oscar Party this year too.

I wouldn't call what we do parties. During the summer we have a lot of GTGs at our house. We're the only ones with a young kid that needs to be in bed at a certain time, so it's easiest and more enjoyable for everyone if we have them over and we can entertain our DD easier.

I like to have parties/host people, but we don't do it as often as I'd like. Once we're finished renovating the house we'll probably have people over more.
We have friends over at least once a week. Not so much a party, but a group getting together for drinks before we go out to dinner or something. We do host Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter at our place, too.
We used to have big parties before Andy was born--always a big summer blowout (40+ people, rental tables, full bar, etc) and a Thanksgiving dinner party with 10+ couples. Plus dinner parties with 3-4 couples about every other weekend.
Now its more like 1 couple over for dinner every three weekends maybe. I miss entertaining, a lot.

I have a bunch of girls over for dinner about once a month.
During the summer, we have a lot of bbq's, because we have a big deck and a large yard. The winter is harder, because we don't have a floor plan that is conducive to hosting large amounts of people.
We have 1-2 couples over pretty frequently since we're the lone parents in our group of friends. They understand our ability to go out is limited and are good about coming to our place
We enjoy hosting parties, but generally keep the large parties to 3-4 times a year
eta: we have a pool, so we're big on having people over in the summer. And it's always easier when everyone is hanging out outside

No. I used to try, but I'd spend a lot of time and money making food, and it would be poorly attended. Once I invited 25 people over for a Doctor Who party, 10 RSVP they would come, and 3 showed up plus one person who wasn't invited but heard about it from somebody who was. 10 people had RSVPd no and the rest never bothered to reply. I had made about 36 scones, from scratch, among other things and took half a day off of work to get everything ready. SO PISSED OFF.
It was the last time I tried to throw a real party aside from a bridal shower for a friend, and even then I had problems with people RSVPing yes and not coming/not bothering to respond.
Maybe people being flakes is par for the course with party planning, but it annoys the shit out of me.
We have a couple a year. St. Patrick's, Cinco de Mayo, and NYE are our big-ish parties and then we have 2-4 people over for dinner at least once a month.
We throw outdoor parties every Summer. Mothers day, Fathers day, Memorial day, just because BBQs. We have a pool and a large backyard so everyone loves to come over to our house in the summer time
We really like to have people over and intentionally bought a house that's good for entertaining. It has a HUGE deck and a basement with a wet bar, and we have a pool table and a dart board down there too.
So far we haven't had a lot of parties - my birthday, DH's birthday, and wine-tasting party - but we definitely plan to entertain a lot as long as we're in this house.
We never have people over. I would love to, but my husband doesn't like having people over. He says our place is too small, and they make a mess and don't clean up. Meh doesn't bother me! I'm hoping when we move into a bigger place he'll be more into it.
He expects guests to clean up after themselves?
I don't think a bigger place will remedy that problem...
