I've been flip-flopping for a year about whether to do an addition now or wait (and I appreciate those who have listened and offered advice when I've posted here), and we've finally decided to hold off for a while longer.
We do need another bathroom, though, so we're borrowing a corner from our long master bedroom to put in a 68"x68" bath with a corner shower. Bonus: we can pay cash for it. Like this (though the sink side will be about half as wide):
I'm also on an organizing kick, trying to make the very most of the 1,200 sq/ft we do have while we save to add on later. It's fine for the three of us, but would be even better if the closets were less of a clusterfuck. I've bought 8 huge plastic bins to move a bunch of stuff down to the basement, including clothes I'm not wearing but not ready to get rid of.
And last night, I bought new furniture/storage for our office, which is a room that we've done the least to and is the most cluttered. I want it to look sort of like this (it has a wood floor, white trim and that color gray walls already):
So I bought this desk from CB2:
And these cabinets to span the length of one wall:
I had been holding off making any changes to the house/spending any money on it since we wrapped up the last round of renovations. It feels so good to have a plan and spend a little money to make progress on other areas in the meantime. Maybe the addition will happen in a couple years -- or maybe with the new bathroom and better organization, my thoughts on what we need will change.

10K ish. We're keeping the existing wood floor; our other bathroom is on the other side of the wall, so the plumbing's close by; no heating work needs to be changed; and we did the electrical groundwork for a bathroom in that spot when we rewired the house. So as far as adding a bathroom goes, this will be pretty simple.
I love all of it. I need to catch our organizing bug.
I've been neglecting a couple closets since we moved in. I found a really old handbag with all our closing documents and junk mail shoved in it in the back of my closet, which was clearly a last-minute, desperate and shoddy packing job.
Also, all of my books are still in boxes and were taking up half of L's closet. I'm putting them in bins and am moving them to the basement until we have bookshelves again some day. Hopefully having this stuff out of my daily life will help calm the I-need-more-space-now feelings I've been having.
