My new boss was hired about a week before I accepted my promotion. She started the first Monday in December.
She is the most anal retentive person I have ever met. She's been working at the company what, 5 weeks, and I don't want to say she's made enemies per se, but a lot of people don't like her already. She is very nice to me but is quite demanding and is requesting a lot of weird information, turning people's desks inside out looking for what we basically think is useless stuff, and has already gone to the accountant (she is her new boss as well) and outlined all sorts of changes she wants her to make. The accountant has been there nearly 40 years. She's driving the HR woman nuts and trying to direct a project we are working on (HR manager, new boss, and me) which would be fine except she doesn't seem to understand that it's the HR manager's project. She wants to sit in on every meeting, every discussion about payroll (not her job) and the HR woman is going insane. New boss complains a lot (although it isn't the intolerable complaining I've listened to from my other nutso CW), and even my "big boss" has said 'Wow, we didn't need someone so, um, extremely detail oriented...'. Long story short, I think she might be a little difficult to work with. The accountant (the nearly 40 year veteran) I think is going to lose her damn mind, or her head will simply explode. I am waiting for a big showdown when accountant starts refusing to change her systems and routines (which work just fine, FTR). This should get interesting.
I think she's just trying way too hard to "be the boss", and hasn't been there long enough to understand the company and how things work and are done around there.

Hopefully she'll learn her place in time? It's always tough starting a new job and learning the ropes. I'm not giving her a pass, but maybe she is just doing all these things to get the hang of how the company functions.
I would agree with you except she's telling people they are wrong about stuff she doesn't understand. It seems more like she just wants to boss people around and doesn't quite know how. Awkward!
Yikes. I hope she calms down and levels out, because that's ridiculous. Telling people they're doing stuff wrong when she doesn't know how the place functions yet is crazy.
They hired a new clinical supervisor/program manager for my part-time program at work. She's wanting to observe every therapeutic group we do, even ones that aren't part of the program, and asks a million questions instead of letting us come to her with supervision issues. She's nowhere near as detail oriented and she's driving me nuts, so I can feel your pain a little. I hope things get better at your work soon!
