Please do not be offended if you see me and I don't recognize you.
I'm the worst with faces. It's practically a handicap. I've "met" aquaintances up to five times before they laughed in my face and told me we'd seen each other before.
The odds are very low that I'd recognize a nextie that hasn't been around 5+ years with a self portrait sig.

I do not think I would recognize someone I have only seen in pictures, unless I was specifically looking for them. I doubt I would even recognize most celebrities.
I would be totally offended if you didn't recognize me
Oh! And while we were waiting for you I was all stressed about recognizing you. I told dh "all I can remember is that she's really thin and pretty" he was all "well, I suppose I can live with that".
i have the exact opposite problem. i know people's faces right away and remember that in astronomy in 1st semester freshman year they liked to sit on the far left of the classroom and wore a navy hoodie a lot and cracked jokes about the show E.R., but even if they had a nametag on daily for a month, i wouldn't remember their name.

I'm like this too. I sat with a girl in O-chem 1 and 2, so a full year and still couldn't remember her name.
I'm bad with names too!
It's so fucking embarrassing, especially when I worked with good 'ole boys who prided themselves on knowing people, name dropping, etc. Ugh.
I'd have the niggling feeling that I'm *supposed* to know someone but wouldn't be able to remember where. Or I have the nasty habit of thinking someone reminds me of someone else so I'd be all "it must be because he reminds me of dad/sister/random celebrity..." and decide I didn't know that person at all. They tell me their name I might recall, if they tell me where we know each other I'd either remember or fake it. I'm perfect bait for Impractical Jokers.

i'm glad i'm not alone here. my husband usually thinks i'm exaggerating for effect with the number of details i'll remember about someone without knowing their name.
this rather blows for the networking aspect of my career. i'm like "omigah, i totally met this general counsel at this awesome corporation and she and i talked for 45 minutes and have so much in common and she was so interested in my work and vice versa! i think her name was jane. or jean. or gina. or maybe marjorie?" i have to google the hell out of everyone after i meet them and pray they have a linked in page.

this is me! I printed out all my class lists from my one school because they attach ID pics to them. Love that when they come back a year later for study abroad recommendations. I call them all dear. Ha!

This is me. And, if I did recognize someone, I would spend so much debating with myself about if it was really who I thought that the opportunity would be long past.
