this is my friend from high school. i haven't seen her in in person about 5 years. here is my evidence, most courtesy of FB:
-in high school she dated men.
-there is another woman (let's call her A) in all of her photos of any travels and some at home.
-her sister (another friend from high school) has talked about A in her own FB posts. as in "can't wait for A and sister to get here for christmas dinner!"
-neither she nor A have any relationship indicator on their FB (i.e., not ruling out that they are together).
-she never mentions husband/boyfriend/dating men.
-i think she and A co-own a dog.
-she likes to snowboard?
okay, just kidding with the last one. in case you're all "why does this matter?" the answer is "it does not, but i'm bored and curious and obviously can't be all messaging her 'so, you change teams?'"
LOL this reminds me that H always used to point out that all the lesbians on my hockey team and their girlfriends dressed like snowboarders. So my vote is yes if she plays hockey. LOL
see, i thought for certain that she and A were a couple, but then i asked my husband and he was all "um, i don't know. maybe they're roommates?" but my friend is like 37 or 38! a little old for roommates. that you travel with. exclusively. right? i just want her to be happy. if A makes her happy, yay!
she lives in colorado. i'm certain she drives either a jeep or subaru.
Probably. My sister dated guys (well, a guy) in high school, and she's gay. The dog co-ownership and the sister's "A and sister coming to dinner!" thing are the tip-offs for me.

in high school she played field hockey. we didn't have regular hockey.
Oh and my lesbian cousin doesn't put a relationship status on FB, mainly because she doesn't want older family members, like MY MOM, to know. That's what her sister said anyway. My mom knows and doesn't care, but I don't know how to bring that up to my cousin. Like "Hey, my mom is totally cool with your lesbianism" needs some context, right?
Yes. The co-owning a dog did it for me. I has suspicions about a fb friend of mine who tagged her dog with a hyphenated last name with her gf, that's how I first figured it out.
WAIT. i just thought of another, potentially decisive, clue. she's a high school teacher. i'll bet this is why she has to be "i will neither confirm nor deny my relationship status with A" on facebook. so that, either way, nosy ass parents (and, apparently, former classmates) keep their thoughts and opinions to themselves.

you just reminded me of my awkward neighbor. there is a lesbian couple on our street who have a daughter about L's age. we don't see each other that often (since our girls aren't yet in school together), but we do the smile/nod/short chat about whatever is going on developmentally with our kids.
anyway, awkward neighbor (a nice, 50ish, real estate agent) meets me at this block party and is all "do you know A and B? they live down the street from you and have a girl about your daughter's age?"
and i'm all "yeah, we've met briefly."
then she says, in that really loud whisper voice, "they're a couple. is so nice to have a gay couple in the neighborhood."
Maybe she is checking her "cool diverse neighborhood" checklist.
- mormon family? Check! - black family - asian cville family? Check! ;-) - lesbian family? check - Now if only we could get some muslims and some latin-americans, we would be so diverse!
