H and I decided to have a date night at the last possible minute. Thankfully the sitter was available, and I didn't bail despite how completely exhausted I was.
to go w/ the dress I posted the other day, and then went out to dinner.
At dinner we just talked and laughed the whole time. Like, a real date. Didn't talk about the kids, and I honestly don't remember what we talked about, just had fun together. Then we got some bread to go, took it to our friends who bailed us out and watched the kids when I went to the ER w/ my stupid thumb the other night (they love the bread from Bravo, and never get a chance to go), and hung out with them for a while.
AND, when we came home, the house was completely clean, dishes done, etc. When the sitter left, I got a massage from H (because Pilates completely kicked my ass 2 days ago...and starting to work out again has been rough) and passed out.
Icing on the cake: the girls let me sleep in until 7:45. HOORAY!!! H had to be at work at 7, so I'm on my own today and needed to sleep.
We both agreed that we need to do a non-occasion date night at least once a month. It rocks
Sounds like a great night! Nice jewelry picks, too.
I always forget how good date nights are for us until we go on one. The other weekend we got a sitter just so we could do some post-holiday clothes shopping for H without the kids, and it was such a treat.

That is exactly what prompted this shopping trip. H has been slowly updating his wardrobe - like finally getting rid of all the pleated front dress pants, and realized that he hasn't bought a suit since 2004. They are all a really loose cut and dated, so this dinner we have coming up kind of prompted him to get a new one.
H is doing the same! Well, he's done well keeping up with his work/dress clothes, but he's been wanting to upgrade his casual wardrobe from his usual t-shirts and sneakers.
We went to Bloomingdale's and picked out like 10 pairs of jeans for him to try on, of which he found one pair we both liked, and I was like, welcome to my world, buddy. lol.
