ETA: Someone posted a maxi dress in this same print the other day, and the general consensus was nay, but I don't remember if it was because of the print.

I think the OP dress is actually pretty cute, and since the pattern isn't exactly like a solid stripe, it can still be flattering.

The dress that was posted in another thread was more of a problem because of the fit I believe, and the pattern looked weird on that dress.

This is better than the maxi dress because of the fit and the model was super awkward. This one could work if the darker stripes fall in areas that are your good attributes (like a slimmer waist on a pear shape), but if the dark stripes fall at your widest areas it could highlight the problem areas and not be flattering.

Hmm, my worst spot is my hips, probably where that dark purple stripe hits the model. I really love the cut and sleeves of this dress and think it would be flattering, and I like the pattern but am not sure if it would work for me.

I have always loved stripes. I think stripes are like jeans, you need to find the right fit.

GoDawgs - are you asking about that particular dress? Or stripes in general? I agree with pps that it depends on the fit of the garment. I don't particularly care for the dress you posted though. Not that the stripes are bad, its just NMS. I like crisper, bolder stripes like the pic Kore posted.
