Just saw your post in the vents thread, & while I'm no doctor & not familiar with your injury, wanted to share my experience. I fractured a bone in my foot, and long past when the doctor said I would be running, I was still having pain. It turns out that as a result of the fracture, the boot I wore, the limping, etc, I had terrible tendonitis in almost the exact same spot, which I was assuming was continued fracture pain.
The good news is that it was easily solved with a two week regimen of Aleve & Tylenol. Anyway, something to think about if you're still not feeling 100%, but the xrays are showing that you should be healed. Good luck!
Yeah, tendonitis has always been in the mix for me.
I hurt myself back in January, and haven't "really" run since then. Initially I was in PT for posterior tibial tendonitis, which I probably did actually have - that just wasn't all of it. When it wasn't 100% after 2 months of PT, I finally had an xray, and then an MRI, and that's when the stress fracture was diagnosed.
At my last appointment my ortho told me to wait 6 weeks from the last "run/walk" that I did for PT, and then I could start running, taking it really slow and starting on soft surfaces. 6 weeks is pretty short, but I guess since I actually did it 4 months ago, it's not so crazy. The 6 week mark was Monday. I just have zero confidence to try it!
*butting in* I'm having the same issue. The boot caused Plantar fasciatis (yeah, I know that's spelled wrong). I'm wondering if tendinitis could be causing the soreness I'm still having.
It's been 6 weeks of doing nothing and I'm still too nervous to start running. And I love running!!
