Luckily, I am still early enough where I can still sleep on my stomach comfortably, but I need to mentally and physically prepare myself for when the time comes and that won't be reality anymore. Stomach sleeping is just so comfy and it's the best way I can fall asleep. Tell me I'm not doomed to become an insomniac for when I'm too big to sleep on my stomach. Any tips?
When your stomach gets too big to stomach sleep, you probably won't get much sleep anyways. Between the heartburn, movement of the baby, getting up to pee every few hours, it's not fun. My suggestion is to start trying to slowly transition to side sleeping. Get a body pillow, that will help.
I'm going to sit here with you and wait for helpful hints. I'm a devoted stomach sleeper too and I know my days of doing so are rapidly decreasing...I got one of those snoogle pillows for cheap from a friend so I'm hoping it helps.
I don't think there's really any need to prepare yourself. When stomach sleeping stops being comfortable, you'll be forced to move and find a new comfortable position.

I'm a stomach sleeper and really not looking forward to changing it. I'm 15w tomorrow, and still more than fine on my stomach. I'm going to put it out of my mind until I'm forced to be a side sleeper. By that point, I figure that I'm be miserable sleeping anyway.
I was a stomach sleeper but my issue is now I will wake up on my back which is not good either. It is hard, I usually fall asleep on my side but every time I wake up, I am on my back and its painful!
Just get a body pillow and slowly rotate enough to stay comfortable. You don't need to force anything - you won't sleep in a position that's uncomfortable (well, not for long).

Yup. Your sleep will start sucking no matter what.
I was a stomach sleeper, I got a body pillow from target for $20 and went to side sleeping. I was getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night up until I went into labor. Now I can't go back to stomach sleeping, its uncomfortable.

Thanks all. Looks like I don't have a whole lot to look forward to, sleep-wise. I will invest in one of those body pillows and see how that works. I've just gotten so used to sleeping on my stomach all these years that I might as well try and ease into side-sleeping now.

Yup. Stomach sleeping is one of the biggest things I am looking forward to in the next few weeks.
You can also just use a regular pillow and put your leg over it to simulate being on your belly.
I never invested in a body pillow and just use extra ones between my legs. I had no sleep problems in my first pregnancy or so far in this one. The worst for me in the last trimester was getting up to pee in the middle of the night. Everyone's different!

I am a stomach sleeper, and I agree I am not looking forward to sleeping any other way. But I've been trying it out the past few nights on my left side, and it's not too bad! I get up once a night to pee now anyways. I thought that wasn't til later! Poop!
Winecheery - I was up once in the middle of the night during my first trimester too (both times) to pee, and then it stopped for ages and started again late, like maybe 28 weeks? I can't even remember. I'm 23 weeks now and sleeping without having to get up.

Joolsz- Oh cool. Maybe that will be me too then. I have literally gotten up once a night to pee even before I took a pg test, I'm realizing. It's like, my strongest pg sign lol. Well and my boobs.
I have always gotten up multiple times a night to pee. That's increased a bit more. But because I'm so used to it, I have no problem getting right back to sleep. It's pretty much business as usual for me. As for my comfort, at 23 weeks I've been fine ::knock on wood::
