My parents are supposed to come out for a visit this weekend. My dad has gotten his flu shot but my mom has not and she can't find anywhere that has it in stock. My mom works at the public library, so she's exposed to lots of people every day.
Caleb has a fever that hopefully is on the way out but since he's been sick all winter and now again, I'm worried about his immune system being weak. And I'm petrified of getting sick myself since I know my immune system isn't working 100%. I've had the flu shot but that doesn't mean I still can't get sick.
I'm going to call my mom tomorrow to let her know that they are still welcome to visit but I don't want them coming if either feel even a hint of sick. Or they can wait to come out until 2 weeks after she's had the vaccine.

Is there somewhere in your town she can get the shot? I know it still takes two weeks for it to actually work but at least you'd know she was well enough to get the shot? If not, I'd wait honestly. Unless you only see your parents like twice a year, which is doesn't sound like is the case.

I talked to my mom this morning and she agreed to postpone their trip until C feels better and she can get the shot. They used miles for their tickets so they can change the tickets for another time.
She said that they had discussed delaying the trip so it made me feel better about asking.
