I really want to take yoga lessons, but need somewhere that has showers since I work shifts being in retail. There are a couple places but they are about 20 minutes from work in the opposite direction of home which makes them 45 minutes away from home(appx.) I took yoga years ago and LOVED it and think that this would be a great start for me to start getting myself into shape again. I am really out of shape. I have purchased DVDs but can't get myself to do them at home myself. I do better in a group atmosphere to stay motivated and actually do the work out. Do you think that this would be "worth it" for me to do being so far away? Or should I just suck it up and go to classes on my way home from work/on off days at a place closer to home that is in between work and home? I really want to check out this "hot yoga" that I am hearing about but not sure what to do. Advice please!
Do you really need to shower after yoga?(After rereading your post are all the classes hot yoga?) I could get by with a quick wipe down and some deodorant.
I like the idea of trying a drop in class, but personally I know I don't have the time to drive that far for a yoga class.
Are there yoga classes closer to you that you could try? Personally I hate to drive so a yoga studio/gym that far away pull deter me from working out. I also agree that you could probably get by without a full shower after regular (not hot) yoga.
The only one that is close to home is not at convenient times AT ALL. It is at the local Y. The one that is on the way to work is hot yoga only. It seems to get yoga I have to go into town, which is the ones I was referring to being 45 min from home. The studio I went to years ago closed shortly, there wasn't enough interest in my area.
I unfortunately live in a little POS town that doesn't have very much of anything. I have to drive anywhere but the grocery store or McDonalds. 25 minutes to the mall, 30 to work, etc.

I would recommend taking a few regular yoga classes before jumping into hot yoga. Make sure you learn proper form, because hot yoga tends to push people farther than a regular class.
