We're moving again in the spring. This will be our third move in two years and I'm so over it! We knew it was a slim possibility when we got here, but didn't expect it since we had heard they don't usually move CS families. Someday I'll get use to the curve balls. I feel like we just got settled here, and I started making friends and now I have to start over. I'll put my big girl panties on, but it's only 10:30am so, too early to drink.
Where are you KPol? I was at Casey and I know many people who lived in Red Cloud or Youngsan and were up at our post all the time. It's really quite easy on the subway.
Doh! We've heard a rumour we might end up down that way at some point, but no one can tell us when. DH is on the hunt for a command slot, so that may decide the timing for us.
I feel you. We have moved 3 times in the last 2 years. 2 bases, 3 houses. We just moved into a new house a few weeks ago. Same base, but we were not planning to have to move while still here. I hope it goes smoothly for you!

We're up in Area 1, getting an apartment that's kinda in the middle of the camps up this way. It's a nice place - spacious, good view, a funky little roof-top terrace, a teensy-tiny oven, and lots of storage...
Unfortunately, it's a bit of a commute for DH, but there wasn't much that met our needs closer to where he'll be working, and if he gets tossed to another one of the camps up here, it won't be a major inconvenience for us (ie: being really close to one base would make the others quite a ways away). It looks like a bunch of folks from his unit are going to end up near us - some even in the same apartment complex.
We have figured out the bus/subway system well enough that DH can get to/from work, and I can to/from any of the camps up here, too, so that's a big bonus, especially as our POV is still in transit.

We were at Casey. We lived in World Meridian, which was hands down, the most amazing place I have ever lived in. Marble floors, slate tile bathrooms, hardwood floors.... sigh. I miss it! Coming back to "normal" post housing after that was a huge let down!
We live down south at Humphreys. It will be a big change for you (if this is where you're coming) but its nice and quiet here. They're doing a lot of building in anticipation of all the troop movement. Just be advised, you'll probably be living on post since new housing tours are opening soon.

Yeah for command time, but moving sucks. The actual moving is a PITA, but having to rebuild your life with each relocation is the really hard part. We've been married for six and a half years and we are living in house number seven (and only one was a local move). My DH's current orders are for three years, but we aren't likely to be here for the full three years. I guess that I'm hoping to beat our "record". The longest we've been in one house is 22 months.
My vent--I'm sick. . . again. LO caught a cold at kindergarten and he shared it with me. He's got a runny nose while I feel like utter hell. ::stomps foot:: It's not fair!

I was just telling someone that the other day....we have yet to be in a house for 2 years. The longest is about 18 months. Maybe some day....

This is us too, gumby. I keep saying someday, as well!
I'm annoyed right now. I am driving down to Florida tomorrow after work to spend time with my parents and sister. My dad, being bored and retired, decided to take the train into Savannah and drive back with Friday evening so I wouldn't be alone. The train was scheduled to get in at 7:30pm. Perfect. We can go out to eat and then be back home so I can get to bed at a decent time before work. Yeah, no. It's 9:30 and its not even scheduled to get in until 11pm. Savannah is about an hour from me. So I will get home around midnightish. My husband is supposed to drive with me, but now I feel bad because he wakes up even earlier than I do. I want him to go with me just because of the drive there, but I probably won't let him.
Since we live on post here, all of our stuff is 110v, so we'll have to get some converters and what not when we move.
Have you joined any of the Flea Market pages on FB? There is always 220v stuff posted on there!
Yongsan _has_ on base housing? Wow, I thought it didn't...
These flea market pages... I've never heard of them. How would I go about finding them?
Yep! We actually have to live on post as long as there is availability. Getting an exception to policy to live off-post is almost impossible since they aim for full-capacity for on-post housing. It has its benefits, but also some drawbacks.
As for the flea markets, just search on Facebook for it. I know for certain there is a "Yongsan Flea Market" "Osan Flea Market" and "Camp Red Cloud Flea Market" page.

That might be the case if you qualify for a two bedroom, there are not a lot of them available. If you do live off post, you'll most likely have both 110 and 220 outlets and a full house transformer. I do hear you on the US sized oven, half of my pans don't fit
