She needed advice on a pre-nup and to talk to me about wedding venues and arrangements. Yup, DD1 is getting married.
They talked about it yesterday and are going for it. The major problem is he *just* got back from overseas last month (he's a Navy pilot) after a six month deployment and he's being transferred to Japan...in March. He didn't want to discuss future plans on their first deployment, and particularly not while he was in the middle of the desert with other stuff going on around him. But they've got to get married within the next four weeks now. We spent almost two hours tossing ideas around this evening.
Yay. I like him a LOT. So many degrees above the lunkhead she was with for the prior six or so years and the father of her (albeit adorable) little guy. I've told her that he's her version of my DH (he's stable, nice, well educated, responsible, good to her and for her and great with her kid) and if they ever break up I'm disowning her and adopting him.
Yay. But this means no LA GTG for me since we have to whip this party into shape. Dammit and the attendee list looked fabulous. Some day.
(But yeah, Flex can affirm that I'm real, relatively harmless and I'd totally do a GTG for all you doubters.)
That's a good question SueSue. They don't have a parenting plan or anything else restricting the move (nor do they have one okaying it either), and she hasn't gotten command approval to go overseas yet either. (Spouses moves overseas require chains of paperwork.) She's "in talks" with her ex. She's not going to Japan until at least the end of school.
