Cheers to all the moms out there! Last night I mentioned I was watching my friend's 2 girls (9&6) overnight while they were at a wedding. I slept with one eye and one ear open all night, afraid one of them would wake up crying or something. They slept til 5:30 AM. OMG I'm dying. We've watched Nick; had a huge breakfast and now the older one is reading her book, and the younger one is playing with her pillow pet. My friends will be here around 9-10 to pick them up. Bring on the coffee!!!

Well don't let that color your impression of kids if you want to have your own someday. They might've woke up so early because they're out of their element and excited!
Or! You could get a night owl kid like mine, who I have to wake up for afternoon preschool. They exist!

This is what I'm guessing! ^
We do want our own kids, and I'm aware that my sleep habits will change at least in the short term. The getting up early doesn't bother me too much. It's the not sleeping because I was worried about them in conjunction with the early to rise, that seems like it would get old real fast! So extra cheers to all the non-sleeping moms this morning!
You get used to the Mom radar overtime and sleep a bit better but it never goes completely away. You also learn how to half wake up and pass back out fast.
This! I sleep well, but very lightly. And I was a deeeeeeeeep sleeker before DS. Your body will train itself! That's awesome that you are a great friend. I think I takes alot of trust to leave your kids overnight with someone.
Enjoy your nap

Enjoy a nap! And I promise not all kids are early risers. My 2 year old is rarely up before 9 and occasionally like today he will sleep about an hour longer.
