obtained my motherfucking credit card information and purchased a $400 bag from nordstrom as well as deadmau5 tickets.
THIS FUCKER LIVES IN SAN JOSE CALIFORNIA. i live in new jersey.
HOW THE FUCK DOES MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY AUTHORIZE THIS SHIT WITHOUT CONTACTING ME.
or the fucking card authorization company at motherfucking nordstrom.
i am off to the police station right now. i am so fucking pissed.
the funniest part of all of this is that the bag is called the "Kunsty" lol
Was the order placed online? If not, how do you order something in a store without the physical credit card. If they were purchased online, are they investigating where the items were shipped?
One time my actual credit card was lost at a train station. Someone picked it up and used it. I disputed the charges and Capital One just removed the charges. It was no problem and the removed the charges right away.
But don't you report identity theft to the police?
It was a Point Of Sale purchase which means they made a physical card out of her information. I don't understand why everyone is giving her a hard time.
I don't think the police will do anything for you. Not to mention the charges were committed in a different state.
I know you're angry but your cc company should take care of it for you. This happens all the time.
Filing a police report is part of her due diligence and it's a clear sign to her bank/credit card issuer that she did not make the purchases.
To OP: if the police department tells you that the police department in the jurisdiction where the fraud took place needs to be contacted to take the report, tell them you would like them to file a courtesy report and forward the information to the San Jose police department.
Nothing will likely come of your report, but having the report number will help you when you file the fraud documents with your bank.

This has happened to me several times - yesterday being the most recent. It is a PITA, but the fraud department of your credit card company will handle it. As in they will reverse the charges and issue you a new card. They have always overnighted the cards to me for free.
If it were me, I would report it. I'd want it on file in case they stole other information/are opening other accounts you haven't found out about yet (sorry, I don't mean to freak you out). Maybe you call and the cops are like "Whatever" but I'm pretty sure crimelords aren't going to overtake the city you live in if an officer spends a few minutes on the phone with you answering some questions or filling out a report.
Sorry your account info got stolen. Motherfuckers.
These threads always make me lol when GBCNers bust out the assvice though. Because all PDs in all cities operate the same, and all banks handle fraud the same way. OMG, guys.
It happens ALL the time and unless the bank requires her to file a police report why would she waste her time (and the PD department's time) on something that is not an urgent matter?
