i called nordstrom first to find out what the fuck it was. i swear to god, the person told me: "oh, we flagged that as a fraudulent charge."
BUT THEN THEY CHARGED IT ANYWAY.
then i called my bank and disputed the charges (since i cannot contact whoever the paypal seller is of the tickets) and i closed the account down. now i'm going to the police station once my H gets home from the gym.

Do you have to go to the police? Does the bank require you to do that?
We had some fraudulent charges about a year ago and we never went to the police. Called Citibank, they credited and investigated, and we got new cards.

they dont require it, but i really don't care. i feel like this needs to be reported.
the nordstrom person gave me the order number and so i was able to get some information on the person who ordered it for me, so i'm going with everything i've got.
Something similar happened to me last week. We never answer our home phone, but a random call last Sunday morning made me pick it up. It was my CC company calling to verify-had I been racking up charges in Atlantic City? It seemed suspicious to them, which is good, since I'm in OH, not gambling away at Harrah's. And yes, my card was still in my possession. They cancelled the old one, got rid of the charges, & sent me a new card. But definitely still a pain-hope it gets worked out for you.
I had 3 of my credit cards stolen out of my wallet last year. One of the credit card companies asked for a police report. I filled one out online just to cover my ass. It took less than 5 minutes.
Physical caards being stolen is different than the #s. The cops won't do much. BOA should have a zero fraud liability policy and I'd bet Nordstrom does too. I know it sucks when it happens, but it happes a lot. My bank sends me a text whenever they think there may be fraud and I just text back yes or no.

You are weird. This kind of thing happens all the time. Call the card. Give them the information and don't bother the police. You will get your money back and get a different card. Done and done. Nothing to get so worked up over.
My insurance company asked for a police report after tires were stolen from my house. I filed it online and printed it out. you can do the same thing--you don't need to go to the police station.

The police may or may not do anything. This is not something to get really worked up about, though. The charges are fraudulent, you can prove it, and they'll be reversed. It's a PITA but nothing more.
This happens all the time and has happened to le a couple of times. Once my card was charged several hundred dollars to "Bibles for Africa." it never occurred to me to go to the police. Just dispute the charges. It's a very easy process and not a hassle.
boo! I would switch CC companies if possible. We have citicards and they are on top of things. I had a charge for less than $5 that someone attempted to make in Malibu last month (I'm in Kansas!) They called me immediately and canceled my card when I confirmed it wasn't me. Total PITA to get a new CC number but they overnighted the new card to me. I'm very impressed by their fraud alerts.
