Hashtags on FB when the account isn't attached to Twitter is fucking stupid. Hashtags on Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, etc where they are usuable (searchable) is convenient and the way it's supposed to be used.
I don't mind the people who I know have their Facebook pages linked with Twitter (so every time they update on Twitter, it shows on Facebook) but there is a little symbol that lets you know they have both.
It's the people who use willynilly that bother me. It irks me even more when people actually SAY "hashtag" in real life. Saying "lol" in real life isn't acceptable and neither is "hashtag"

The only time I heard it "in real life" was on an episode of How I Met Your Mother when Barney said it in a series of hashtags after an insult, the first of which was "hashtag, BURN". I thought it was awesome/hilarious, but that has more to do with NPH than it actually being OK.
I have a friend who uses @ to address anyone on Facebook. It's not linked to her twitter. She'll post something on her Facebook wall and people will respond. She'll answer with jen, yadda yadda kim yadda, yadda rather then just address the person by their name. It's like what's the point of the @? You can't just say the person's name?
These are not things I think about. I'm technology deficient and have just come to terms that I don't know what's going on on my online accounts so I can't be bothered to analyze someone else's like this.

1) this post makes me feel old
2) I don't care if your social media accounts are linked. I'm lame and don't twitter (see point #1 -THAT WAS NOT A HASHTAG, THAT WAS A NUMBER SYMBOL), so I really don't want to see a witty hashtag remark at the end of a post.
3) If it makes it searchable, great. But the use of them to attempt to add comedic value just annoys the crap out of me. And if you're seriously tagging something so that someone else can search and find your FB post about "disgusting mommy moments with explosive diarrhea and peas" then there is something wrong with you. And the world.
i just learned how to tag someone in a post here when i tagged pants by mistake! ha. (you put the @ right before their name).
That's how you used to have to do it on FB when they first let you tag in posts. Back in the olden days.
I'm guilty of still doing it from time to time as sometimes when FB is being glitchy, it will trick it into letting me tag but then it stays instead of disappearing. I don't hashtag though.
I try to assume everyone that hashtags is just updating multiple platforms at once.
