The majority of people at my office bring TV dinners for lunch each day. My mother, since my dad's passing has started eating nothing but TV dinners or fast food.
I personally can't stand TV dinners. I think they taste terrible. I'm always hungry an hour after I eat them. I can't get over the idea eating food that I don't even know what it's really made of.
My mom is constantly offering me to have one with her and I always try to kindly decline without sounding stuck up or telling her I think they are disgusting.
I think some of them are ok. There is a vegetarian restaurant chain here that makes soups and frozen dinners sold in grocery stores, and they are very yummy. I add a bunch of vegetables, bread or crackers, and I'm full.
I mean, like anything you read the nutritional info and then decide. If it is low in fat, high in protein and fibers, you are good to go imo.
I prefer to bring leftovers for lunch - but we don't have any more often than not. I try to keep some Lean Cuisines on hand for when I don't have the time to actually make something for lunch.
I eat Amy's ones a couple of times a month because of my dietary restrictions. H and kids will have pizza and I'll have one of those. They aren't bad, but I wouldn't make it a habit of eating them constantly.
The Amy's ones and a few of the lean cuisines aren't too bad but I do try to bring leftovers if I have cooked. Just make sure I really up my water intake if I am going to eat one.
The only ones I'll buy to bring to lunch are Healthy Choice. They are packed with vitamins and actually really good. I know they have a lot of sodium but some of them aren't all that bad. I also love Amy's cheese pizza and broccoli pocket thingys.
The only ones I'll eat are pasta, so veggie lasagna or baked ziti. They ate good in a pinch when you have nothing else to eat, but I don't eat them regularly at all.
I eat them sparingly. Like, once a month, if that. A lot of the girls here in my office eat them all the time and I think they all smell the same when they're cooking in the microwave, and the smell is nauseating.
I used to eat them quite frequently because they're quick and portion controlled but I'm just disgusted by them now, especially the ones with meat in them. I do like the pizza ones.
I keep a small stash in the freezer of frozen dinners in case I need to grab one quickly for lunch, but other than that, I try not to eat them regularly. They just don't taste that great, and they're often loaded with sodium (as other PP's have mentioned).
IMO, the best frozen "meal" is Smart Ones Sante Fe Style Rice and Beans.

I can't do the ones with meat in them. Over time I've become so picky about meat, and frozen meat is almost always poor quality. Ugh!
I have a few of the steamer ones in my freezer for the rare occasions I don't have leftovers for lunch. Not a fan though. I only keep from for lunches in a pinch.
i have one of the amy's ones every so often and they're good. they're one of the few that has plenty of vegetarian options. and my blood pressure is insanely low, so i don't stress over the sodium hit.
much like chips and queso or brownies or any other fucking food on earth, pretty much, so long as they're a part of and not the sum total of your diet, who the hell cares?
They're generally kind of gross, but I'd eat one, or at least pick at one, if my mom were insistant about having them when we hang out. One lousymeal willnot make me die.

Gross, full of sodium and preservatives that give me a bad headache. I did eat them a lot when I was on WW and they are certainly an easy way to keep points in check. I'd only eat the vegetarian ones though, the meat skeeves me. It's a cheap lunch and if your BP is fine and you can handle the preservatives it's certainly a better option than spending $10 on lunch.
I can't even stand the way they smell! My office is right next to the office kitchen and there are days I have to get up and leave from the horrid odors those meals have. Yuck!
eh, just like most everything else they have their place. i can appreciate an amy's burrito or stouffer's mac & cheese. they are yum. do i want to eat them daily, weekly? no. but once in a while is nbd.

I have the Amy's ones on hand when we have military exercises and I don't want to choose cooking over sleep. DH likes the Indian organic ones.. he loves spicy Indian food and I'm not going to order Indian every night of the week.
The ones that I get from WF are good, but it's pound you in the pooper expensive. I dislike Lean Cuisines, but I liked the ones in the green box...Healthy Choice!
