I posted on my FB that I wanted the Ravens to win, because I hate the Pats. And someone responded with:
"I can't cheer for a murderer. #RayLewisisaCriminal"
This is why I was rooting for the Pats. Ray Lewis and/or his friends killed two guys. Don't need to deal with two weeks of the NFL glorifying him. At all.

Wait, you have proof of this and didn't present it when the police and DA dropped the charges against him?
The proof was probably on the white suit he had on that was never found. He also paid off the families of the two victims. And has made comments (relatively recently) that he wished he could tell the families what really happened that night, but he just can't yet (I'm paraphrasing). So, yeah, they did kill those two guys - just because he wasn't charged with murder (and his friends were acquitted) doesn't mean he/they didn't do it. Fact of the matter two guys were stabbed to death that night.
Obviously, I don't know what happened that night. What I do know is since that time, Ray Lewis has made a tremendous impact on the community around Baltimore. Unlike other people who keep getting into trouble and making terrible decisions, he's really been a model citizen. Of course, it's terrible that someone lost their life. But like I said, I don't know what happened that night, and I admire the way he's lived his public life since then.

Yeah, fuck actual physical proof, lets just take ambiguous PR statements and a civil settlement and convict a guy of murder!
Well he wasn't found "not guilty," he took a plea bargain. "Two weeks into the trial, prosecutors agreed to drop the murder charges against Lewis if he would plead guilty to a charge of obstruction of justice and testify against Sweeting and Oakley, who had criminal records that included convictions for theft, burglary and resisting arrest. The obstruction-of-justice charge was related to Lewis' telling those who left in the limo after the fight that they should keep quiet about the incident."
This article also talks about his charitable works that he did around Baltimore, so it isn't an article that is bashing him. However, the comments are brutal coming from both sides.

If there was evidence they would not have dropped the charges
I really hate when people toss around armchair-convictions based and call people murderers, and especially when they drag it into posts about football MULTIPLE TIMES Ina one week period. I ignored this poster last weekend but I'm sick of this shit being tossed into my football posts LOL
Like OJ?
Well it is a hot topic right now, and it should be something that people are talking about since they are going to the superbowl.
um, I did not post anything last weekend, so someone else obviously agrees with me.
And Bern, I usually am big on second chances and changing your life, but there's something about the way this whole thing went down that really bothers me and I cannot get over. I'm happy for you that you are going to the Super Bowl (since I firmly believe that as a fan, you are on the team), I just wish your team wasn't the Ravens. Ugh and that it wasn't a Harbaugh Bowl - that hype will be old by tomorrow afternoon.

And - there is more to the team than just Ray. I realize the focus is on him, but he actually isn't THE team. There are a lot of other guys on that team who are actually the ones, THIS year, responsible for getting them to this point.
