Did you sleep in your kid's room when they were sick, especially the first night?
I have the monitor on her and every now and then I can hear her noisy inhale. I am sitting here making the noise which I realize does not help you all in the least. She is still sleeping, moving around some and coughing here and there.
No, but our bedroom is just across the hall. When his breathing got bad, we bundled him up and sat outside on the front porch to ease the symptoms. We kept a cool mist humidifier going, and one night when it was really bad we opened his window just a bit. His room seemed so cold, but he actually slept really well that night. My son had croup six times before he was a year old, so maybe I'm feeling like it's old hat. The very first time we were so scared we ended up in the emergency room and got steroids, but since then we've found we can manage it at home pretty well.
She got the steroids tonight. If she wakes up or seems too restless, i will crack her bedroom window too. Poor thing was so tired by the time she was put to bed tonight.
No, I did not. But if was after an ER trip and the doctor assured me it was a mild case and all he needed was fresh air and a humidifier.
I have become more paranoid as he gets older for some reason. If it makes you feel better to sleep with her, then do it. I usually do it when S has a fever or I'm otherwise nervous.
