I went in to do a class called Latin Heat. This would have been the FIRST class I have ever taken at the gym. I always say I am going to go and then I whimp out. I always have some sort of excuse.
So I went in today and actually went into the room and then all of a sudden we are jabbing and kicking. i realize that I am in kickboxing instead of Latin Heat. That would have been an excuse for the old me to dip out because its not what I wanted to do.
I stayed... the whole 40 minutes. I did all the exercise and didnt do the "modified" versions that she kept showing us.

Actually. Yes!
I ended up liking it a lot. I just have to find when I can make it. I went today because we are off of school today. I need to double check the times. I know that I want to try zumba and there is a 945 class on Saturday.

Thanks! I found another class on Wednesday at 545. I get out of school by 515 on that day so Ill go
Here is mmy exercise for this week. I need to put it out there for acountability or I wont do it.
M - Kickboxing - Done! T - Off day W - Kickboxing Th - 30 minutes on the Bike F - 3 miles on the treadmill (walking for now...hopefully move up to running in a month or so) S - Zumba Su - Zumba ( If I like it)
The only way I will exercise is to attend classes and for me, it really works. I just write it into my schedule. And you should be proud of yourself. Like PP said, are there any classes that use weights?

I am sure there are.. But I have not found one in my time yet. i dont even know how to do weights and what I should do... Anyone have a routine. maybe I can make it my saturday or sunday thing.
For some reason, I'm always so intimidated by classes at the gym, then after I just bite the bullet and do it, it's sooo not a big deal. I don't know where that fear comes from. Good for you!

Eb I have the same fear that is why I have never done it.
I feel good today too. I don't know if it helped or if its in my head but I feel good. I have been eating right today too. I have 19 points left and 11 activity points. I don't think I'll even use the full 19
I will lose this week!

Yay for actually going to a class! The first one is always the hardest!
just curious, are you planning on doing ALL of this this week? Have you already been doing some of these activities or are you just starting? The only reason I ask is because if you haven't, it might be a bit much to realistically throw all of this on your plate in one week.....

I do plan on doing it all this week.
I am very list and schedule oriented so since its in my schedule it will probably happen. I know that the intensity may not be as high as it will be in the weeks to come but I am hoping if i just dive head first in to this it will become a way of life.
I am so good on making excuses not to do it that it is time to make the excuse TO do it.

Good luck! I know from the GP board you are really taking charge of your health making good progress
But don't be too hard on yourself if you don't do every single one the first week, you have to go at a realistic pace so you don't hurt yourself or burnout in the first few weeks. Suddenly adding 4 classes is a lot!
Thanks Autumn! I really like the classes because I feel like I am actually doing something and cannot just half commit. There are people all around you and the teacher sees you and can comment on what you are doing. I dont want to be seen not putting forth all the effort so I am hoping that will help.
I will try not to be hard on myself if something does not happen (like missing a class or a gym date)
I have decided to go to the apartment gym for the bike and treadmill. No one is ever there so it will be like a calm workout. Does that make sense?

I loved the little gym I had at my old apartment complex, you don't have to deal with as many skeezballs lol
Also, I bet you will love Zumba, I go twice a week and totally get what you are saying about the class making you commit to the workout
Oh, and you got a PM too [/quote] [/b] Right back at ya!
