Holy crap these people showed some sexual fricken restraint back in the day. I love that the only two ppl who slipped up were 'blessed' with a dead body scandal and a baby. lol!
I don't know what I expected but I was hoping it would get good at some point, so I just kept hanging in there.

I did the same but actually enjoyed it. It did start to lag a little midway through season two though. I realized that there are some story lines I really care about and some I just want to fast-forward through.

I found the goody-two-shoes-ness of Daddy Downton to get so incredibly old.

It definitely reminds me of Classic literature - some people love it, some people find it brutally boring. It's totally my thing but my husband would die before he made it through an episode.
We spent the whole weekend watching 2 seasons of The League. Now that's pretty much the opposite.

I think it's either the type of show you love, or you dont understand why people love it. My MIL's boyfriend was talking about how much he loved DA last night and my MIL said that they'd just watched the most recent episode twice already. But then he said that he had no idea what had happened during the episode lol! He seriously watched the entire thing two times and still had no clue what had occurred because he said he couldn't follow it LOL!
After that, I couldn't be bothered. I think it's poorly written and the characters are ridiculously one dimensional and change depending upon the writer's goals.
