DH and I saw that commercial. We looked at each other and DH said "I wonder if they consulted any actual parents. Or anyone at all." Yeah, maybe *someday* it would be funny. Someday in the distant future.
lol The problem is, he is already acting like it is some day. what, did it take him like 10 seconds to get there?
I can still remember my dad getting really upset with me for putting stickers on the rear window of his car. He made me scrape them off (I was maybe 4 or so) and that has stuck with me all these years. And, I admit it, i cringe when I see rear windows on cars covered with stickers. lol
My sister once played gas station with my mother's boss' car. She'd left the window down a bit and my sister serviced it with a hose. This woman used to drop work off for my mother and often came to visit. She was very patrician and well groomed but she loved little kids. One time my sister handed her a new kitten which promptly peed all over her mink.
Plus the Subaru dad is impossibly hip with his possibly biracial LOs? I guess they're
Aw that little girl commercial makes me tear up a little :*)
But yeah. Those little jerks washing my car with the windows down? Oh hell no. They'd be hand drying it with my hair dryer. And not even my good 1200 watt one. 700 watts. That'll teach them.
They pour soapy water all over and into the vents and interior. I would die.
Perhaps these lax parents will learn to keep the car clean themselves. lol
I actually kind of like the response of the dad. I tried hard not to blow up at the kids when they were small and fucked up like this. They spilled a can of paint once in the workroom, a whole gallon, and then carefully tiptoed out and shut the door. I found it when the paint had ALMOST dried, days later. They didn't mean any harm. Yeah, probably should have told me about it. It cleaned up, no one died, no one yelled.
C gets really upset when she spills stuff, like panicked so i try really hard to watch my reaction. And spills are going to happen. I get upset when she does the exact opposite of what I tell her to do and then something gets destroyed. I don't like it when I yell at my kid and feel like a jerk when I do even when she is being a complete pain in the ass.
In the case of this commercial, i would need to leave for a little while. lol
