I know by the end of the program, you should be able to run the full 30 minutes, but if you run slow, do you necessarily run the full 5k in distance? I am confident that I can finish this program but not sure (since I feel like I am running slowly) that I am actually running the full 5k distance
If you're not running a full 5 K in 30 minutes at the end of the program and you want to run 5K, you will be capable. It will just take more than 30 minutes.

When I did my training runs, I was running about 2.5 miles in 30 minutes. I run about 11.5-12 minute mile. However, when I ran my race (on W9D3 of my training schedule), was able to run the 5K in about 35 minutes. My guess is that when you finish that you can run the 5K if you really push yourself but it may take longer than 30 min.
I run C25K based on time and completed my first 5k with no issues. It really took a little over 36 minutes but those extra 6 minutes were no biggie. I did the same for my next 2 races and only started running based on miles when I started my half training.
