What temp do you take your kid to the pedi?

When your LO has a fever, at what temp do you start to get nervous and take him/her to the pedi? K had a little fever this weekend and it has progressively gotten higher. It's 103.5 now and we have an appt at 10. I was talking about taking her in when it was 101 yesterday (she was lethargic and very unlike herself) and I'm just wondering when other moms start to get nervous. She is 16 months old.

I took her in this weekend for a fever that was over 102.

If it doesn't go down with medication and a tepid bath, then I do. When my kids were babies, they always ran high fevers between 102-105, but my pedi was ok with it as long as my kids were behaving like themselves. You should call and see what they say.

It's case by case, but I would in your situation. It's rare for DS to be lethargic, so I would go by that more than the number on the thermometer.

I tend to watch it and if it doesn't respond to medication, I take them in. My kids have rarely been over 103, so I'd probably get nervous around that temp.
