Hi Ladies! My best friend is getting married in May and we're starting to think about a bachelorette party. I'd love to plan some type of "event" during the day, then do dinner and go out. Example: for my sister's bparty, we went to one of those Paint & Pour painting places for a class before dinner and out. For mine, we went on a cupcake tour of Boston and stopped at 5 bakeries before getting dinner and going out. Does anyone have ideas for an "event" type thing we could do? Anything you have already done that might be fun?
Hey, I responded to your other post on MM too. All I'm thinking about these days is wedding stuff (I'm getting married in April) so am happy to chat.
For one of my friends' b-party we did a whole day of events as she didn't want to do a bar hopping thing. We started with getting mani/pedis, then went to a cooking class, and then went to see a movie (27 Dresses) and finally had dinner.
Mine is a surprise, but one idea that was floated around was to go wine tasting.

Thanks VT :)How is your planning coming along? Do you have a dress pic?!?
Cooking class sounds like fun! Where did you guys go? I took a chocolate making class in Boston that I loved - I was thinking about looking into that. Winery tour would also be fun. I was thinking about checking out tickets to Hairspray in Boston or possibly a murder mystery? I guess it wouldn't have to be a day thing - could be night as well. I was also thinking about getting a hotel in Portsmouth or Hartford and exploring one of those cities.
Wedding planning has been interesting, we're getting married in the Turks and Caicos so it's been tough to get things nailed down. We actually just hired a planner and changed locations for the reception in the last week. But things are now finally coming together thanks to the planner! For my friends bachelorette party we did it up in VT, not in Boston. It was just a chef at a local restaurant and he taught us how to decorate desserts which was fun. I think a show sounds like a great idea! We're probably going to spend a night at a Boston hotel and then go out for dinner/drinks that night.

Gorgeous dress! I can't decide if a destination wedding would make me more or less stressed. Crazy that you had to change locations so close to the wedding! Glad things are going well though and that you have someone local to help you out
I've not done either of these, but there's City Wine Tours and the North End Market Tour that our committee looked into. You could also try a group scavenger hunt from one of the companies that run them.
Some events I have done an bachelorette parties include spa days, the boston foodie tour, a sailboat booze cruise. If you are looking to explore a different city I would pick portsmouth over Hartford, I lived not too far from Hartford until lI recently moved up here and its just ok. I would look at Providence too!
VT- Love your dress! I also had a destination wedding and I wouldn't have traded it for anything!! It was perfect for us.

One of my friends favorite local wine was Jewell Towne Vineyards. We all met at a hotel in Portsmouth and took a party bus down to South Hampton, NH (on Mass border) and did a winery tour! The tour was a lot of fun, and then did a wine sampling for us after (for free, I believe). You could also do a party bus and do a few different wine tours, as I think there's a few in the area, then go out to the Portsmouth Bar or where ever at night.

I had a bachelorette brunch at the Nashoba Valley Winery. The food was good and it's a nice setting. We also had a tasting/tour. The wines are fruit wines and not really to my taste, but it was really fun. I have never been, but the chocolate buffet at the Langham Hotel is on my bucket list.
