My Dad's wife, the one that plans to divorce my Dad because of his severe dementia and leave him at my door for me to assume responsibility of at some point informed me last night via a phone call that she listed me as her medical power of attorney. She has two adult children of her own and she is planning to outlive my Dad by at least 20 years according to her.
Who does this? When something happens to my Dad I don't plan to stay in contact with her. This could get sticky.

Say nothing (to avoid drama with her). Leave it as is and when and if the time comes, tell whomever asks that you decline to make the decision and they will then speak with the alternate. No one can force you to make medical decisions for her.

This will be my plan unless I'm in a bad mood that day and just say pull the plug.
