DD's birthday party is on Sunday. At the last minute, my parents have decided to fly in for the weekend and attend the party. My stepmom has a compromised immune system and has to take extra precautions for travel, etc, so that she doesn't get sick.
I'm wondering if I could send an email to the folks who are planning to attend the party, letting them know that we welcome healthy and well children and adults, but please stay home if you are ill. This should go without saying, but it's extra important because DD's grandma will be there.
How do I/can I say this delicately, and without being rude?
If I received an email last minute about an elderly grandmother with a weak immune system, I wouldn't be offended at all. I would be happy to be extra cautious. Since it is your family, it doesn't seem rude.

Be honest and tell them exactly what you wrote up there. If I received an email with that information, I would totally understand and follow your request.

I like this, but I think it needs to be more clear that she has a compromised immune system. The above might make people think "Um... is it safe for MY child to be around this person?".
