I need a new makeup routine for everyday wear but have no idea where to start. Right now I just use a tinted moisturizer, bronzer and some mascara. It's really not working for me and I'd like something more. I have larger pores and am pregnant right now so I'm not sure if I should avoid anything right now. Any help with a routine and products would be great. I'd like some new brushes too. Thanks ladies.
What do you want your new look to be? How much time do you want to spend on doing your makeup? What do you think is your best facial feature and what's your coloring like? Is your skin even or do you have discoloration that you want covered?
Sorry for the million questions, but it will give a better idea of what to recommend.
I have 10 or 15 mins to do my makeup each day. I don't want anything too dramatic but a good updated natural look would be great. I think I could maybe use a primer or maybe a facial moisturizer. I'm not sure. I don't know about what foundation would work either. Liquid? I probably don't need a bronzer either since it's winter and sometimes it looks too dark. I dont want to spend a ton either.
My makeup routine is maybe 5-10 minutes. This is what I use:
Moisturizer-- a must!!! even on days I dont wear makeup. Primer-- I use Hourglass mineral veil, I think its made a huge difference in how my skin looks and how long my makeup stays I use a foundation most days, but a tinted moisturizer is good for the weekends or if my skin is especially clear. Definitely go to a counter and get matched!! Liquid or powder- depends on your skin. I prefer liquid. I apply with a foundation brush. I still use a bronzer in the winter so I dont look dead, but I use a lighter one than I use in the summer. concealer- I have a lot of acne scars powder to set Blush eyeshadow primer eyeshadow eyeliner mascara lip gloss
It sounds like a lot but once you have a routine down, you can do it quickly. I promise this usually is about 5 minutes a day for me.
I think spending money on yourself is worth the investment. There are great drugstore brands for certain things like mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow and lip gloss, but I personally dont do well with drugstore foundation. if you can splurge on only one thing, I'd go for foundation- but some people do really well with drugstore brands.
