I posted this on the nest yesterday but didn't get many answers so I figured I'd ask here as well I've been using Frontline on my 2 dachshunds and its stopped working completely. I need something new and have been thinking of trying k9 advantix. Thoughts on the product? Thanks in advance!

I think this year has just been exceptionally bad for fleas. Do you live in an area with lots of ticks? If not, we have had great success with Comfortis. We can't do it anymore due to the humongous amount of ticks in our area (it is flea-only) but it worked great for us.
My dogs have been on K9 advantix since they were puppies and I have zero problems with it. I have had no fleas at all, and I take them hiking frequently and I have had no issues with ticks or mosquitos. K9 Advantix is dangerous for cats, so don't use it if you have cats in your home.
We use Frontline Plus. We looked into Advantix, but I'm uncomfortable with its use around cats - even if I keep them separate for a day or two. It's working so far - no fleas and no ticks.
I use it and we also have a cat. I just keep them separated for a couple of days and haven't had a problem. I bathe both dogs on day 3 after application because they both look super disgusting. We don't really have many fleas in this area, but my one dog did contract lyme while on Advantix. We are still using it, but know that it isn't 100% effective. I do still pull ticks off from time to time.
We use trifexis (comfortis + hartguard) we tried K9Advantage & Advantix and our fleas just laughed.
Trifexis = Comfortis and Interceptor, not HeartGuard. I've looked into using it (switching from K9 Advantix II), but the reports of severe reactions have me nervous. We actually had a good month last month using the Advantix, so I guess we'll stick with it a little longer (we still have 4 months of Interceptor to give, and I'll think again about switching to a combo at that point).

If your pet is up to date on heartworm prevention I would use Trifexis and a collar named Preventic collar. This is the cadillac of heartworm, flea and tick protection. Also, Trifexis deworms monthly for intestinal parasites.
