Did anyone do any sort of sleep training for naps? V only takes about 2 30- 40 minute naps on the days I am home with her. She sleeps much better at my MIL's house (usually about 3 hours total) and even when my mom is keeping her at my house. I'm not sure why she won't stay asleep any longer when I am home with her and I feel like she is crankier because of it. Did anyone do any sort of sleep training for naps? Suggestions?

I asked my pedi this and he simply said it was because the baby wanted to be with me. I know it can be frustrating though. DS used to take super short naps and only right next to me or on me. Then he went to daycare for a week. I noticed he was taking really long naps and they said they put him in the crib on his tummy and he cried for a for 2 minute and then fell asleep. I tried it on the weekend and it worked! I put him on his tummy and he fell asleep for 2.5 hours! Two days in a row!

L does 4. 45 min naps per day. In the crib, stroller, wherever. Whether she falls asleep easily or crying. Today, we went swimming and she slept for 1.5 hrs. Maybe try to tire her out more?

Mmm that is weird she sleeps at one place and not another. Is the environment different? All of my babies have had different sleep patterns. I never bought into sleep training. I have one STTN at 4 months and another not STTN until he was well over a year. Who knows. I just try to watch my baby and see if he seems tired.
I think it's pretty normal because she's excited to be with you. If she's generally a good sleeper I would try to do whatever your MIL does and maybe push the issue a little bit.

DS 1 was a terrible sleeper as a baby. We finally did sleep train at night around a year. Nap sleep training was a big, fat, fail. Once his night sleep improved, his naps improved, too. When he started daycare at 13 months, his naps got better until he was taking a 2 hr nap a day. He is almost 3 and still takes a 2 hour nap almost every day, so there is hope.
DS2 is not a great sleeper either. I may have to do some sleep training at 9 months because I have to go back to work.
My youngest is a terrible napper. I haven't really pushed the issue because she seems to sleep okay at night. She's just very alert and doesn't want to miss anything so she refuses to nap. The one time I tried to do sleep training, she cried so hard and didn't stop so I caved and got her. Poor thing looked like a boxer with puffy eyes.
We did sleep training with my son at 9 months and I wish we would have done it sooner. We did it at night first and then once he was sleeping well at night we did naps. We followed the recommendations from the book Happy Baby Healthy Sleep Habits. My son still naps for 2-3 hours every day without fighting me so I feel like it worked for us.
She's around 6 months old? She might be ready to drop down to one nap. It's much easier to sleep train for naps when making that transition because they really are tired by that point in the day and you know it.
We used a version of Ferber with both of our sons (put them in the crib, path their back to soothe them, leave them to fuss a bit, come back in five minutes, pat their back, leave them for ten minutes, ect.) and it worked really well. GL!
