One time DH left a container of chocolate milk in my car. It somehow got caught up under the driver seat. NOT on the floor, like up in. We could NOT find the smell for a month. Then found this container after super serious searching. I was SOOOO mad at him. He had to clean my car for 6 months as punishment.

Light a candle, take out the trash, double check the pantry, put a slice of lemon in the garbage disposal, and check the washing machine and any wet towels or rugs in the bathroom or by the sink.
I change towels out and wash them every other day. The bath mats don't seem wet to the touch.
I do the clean wash cycle for my washing machine with bleach every two weeks since H has some disgusting shit on his clothes from swamps from work sometimes and we only have one washer/dryer set at the moment.
Fridge is good, there's an exterminator coming Friday to check stuff out (they're with the complex, they do a monthly check as part of the rent I didn't ring them) so maybe they'll have some answers.
Is anything in your place leaking? Check in closets, the washer hoses, the sink pipes. Do you have a water heater/set up in a closet? Could it be leaking? You could be smelling mold that is in a wall or something.
I was going to suggest checking under the sinks....kitchen,bathroom, utility, etc, for leaks. Our dishwasher leaked under our kitchen sink once without us knowing it and it reaked until we found the source of the smell.
