It took me an extra hour to get in to work today. I almost slid into a car turning into daycare. I was crawling around the corner, but my car just wanted to go straight. Thankfully it stopped a few inches from the guy's driver door. We both made a Holyfuckthatwouldhavesucked face, smiled and carried on. Got on the highway and it took me 25 minutes to go one exit. Tons of cars off the road, spun out. Finally made it downtown, and almost spun out in a patch of icy slush. Made it to the office just minutes before my 9am meeting. Joy.

Aside from DD finding everyway imaginable to delay actually putting her coat on and walking out the door, it went reasonably well. There was a wreck that slowed things down but it was dry. Tomorrow may not be so nice :-(

Sorry, motzie. I heard the driving was terrible on the expressway. My office mate warned me so I took back roads. There was no traffic and I got to work in 15 minutes
Motzie, I'm glad you're safe. That's a terrible way to start your day.
We went from sunny and 78 to rainy/drizzly so I'm sure my commute won't be as easy as usual. People here don't know how to drive in the rain and either go too fast or ridiculously slow, so there are always accidents.

It was warm enough to rain for the first time in 2 weeks yesterday. Unfortunately, no one realized that the rain was going to freeze overnight, so there were a lot of icy roads and stupid drivers on the way to work today, not my favorite combination. But I made it without incident and was only 4 minutes late, so I guess I can't really complain too much.
My big complaint for the morning is that someone put a box of cookies next to the coffee pot and I really want one, but they're all chocolate so I can't eat them.
It's just cold and windy here, but no precipitation. They're predicting sleet/snow or something tomorrow afternoon and into the evening hours. I bet our traffic and roads will be a mess.
It actually feels warmer here than it has for the past few days. We're in the double digits and the wind chill isn't as horrible. It felt like 6 yesterday.
Roads are dry here. But, when I got to work there was no Internet in the building as were told to go home so we could log on remotely, since apparently that still works. Go figure.
