I fell asleep in the middle of the episode last night! Will watch tonight and get back to you.
I wanted to make a post about restaurant wars last week but all I could come up with to say was "Ugh! WTF! Horrible!" etc. There was really nothing to discuss, it just sucked. Josie is the worst.
Don't worry, I was able to scroll past it. I'll stop checking this thread though in case anyone else watched last night and wants to discuss! Be back tomorrow.
I think Kristen picked Josie because she thought Micah would get sent home for his dumb Raw thing, and wanted the extra set of hands. Obviously a bad move in retrospect since she is so horrible, but what can you do?
I read Tom's blog on the Bravo website and he said that after seeing the episode and what actually happened, he wished Kristen would have given more information. Because seriously, it was Josie's fault. Oh well. Kristen already won like $50k and came out of the show looking awesome, while Josie will never win the whole thing and I can't imagine why anyone would want to work with her after the way she has been shown. So, it's fine in the end.
The Padma thing was so weird. I hated the fake out. I wish I had seen the watch what happens live after the show (Padma was on and they said the eliminated chef would be calling in), but I DVRed Top Chef and watched later, so at that point I had obviously missed my chance.
I was so afraid the judges were going to screw it up again last night. The way they were talking during Judges' Table made it sound like they were going to let Josie skate by again and I kept screaming at the TV, "Send Josie hooooome!!!" It's about damn time they got rid of her!
YES. I was really worried that Stefan would go instead. Although it seemed to me that Tom already had some extra info on what had happened in restaurant wars, because he was pretty nasty with Josie about time management issues.
I LOLed a lot during the dinner service. I wonder if they planned ahead to have Judge's table be the next day, or if that was an audible after all the wine they (apparently) drank. I don't usually love Wolfgang Puck but he was cracking me up. I think the best line was when one of the young guys said about Stefan "Wasn't he already on Top Chef?" and Padma almost choked on her food.
A lot of people seem angry about Josie having stayed so long and maybe the producers finally realized that if they kept her another week that there would be a max exodus of viewers and they'd lose all respect. Because, seriously? I wonder how they even picked the three people who got to come back this season.
Yeah, I can see why they picked Stefan and CJ, but Josie makes no sense to me. I didn't see her original season but from what I understand, she didn't make it very far and was not a fan favorite then, either. Did they burn through all of the other likeable potential returnees during the All Stars season? I kind of doubt it. Meh. I still don't understand why they wanted to bring three people back in the first place. The show is fine as it usually is with new chefs every season.

This is what drives me crazy-- I don't remember Josie being all that special on her season. I feel like she's a legend in her own mind, and the producers seem to have bought it, too. Stop trying to make Josie happen! I hate to say it, but I'm falling out of love with Stefan, too. I didn't particularly like him in his season, but I was changing my mind this season. This episode and the last episode are killing him for me, though--I thought it was hilarious when Wolfgang Puck smacked him down for his "Europeans don't do fried chicken" comments.
I find Stefan entertaining to watch but I don't think he's as highly skilled as some of the other chefs. His original season was kind of weak (isn't that the one Hosea won??) so he stood out more there.
I watched last chance kitchen this weekend. There was no way Tom was going to let Josie win. I think he has a grudge.
Hey Guys! Caught up last night. OMG I am SO glad Josie is gone!!!! She was SO annoying and she STUNK. She shoudl have been gone like 3 weeks ago at least. I feel bad for the other chefs that got cut before her. She seemed to know it though, and I think she realized that she was skating by on luck.
The show should be MUCH more watchable now. She was really ruining it for me. I'm bummed CJ is out, I think he's actually talented and got cut on a bad day. I don't understand the fan favorite/twitter vote thing. *another* eliminated chef gets to come back along with the LCK winner? That's getting to be a bit much. Not really last chance kitchen, then?
Oh well, not much to watch on TV so I keep watching! I'm sick of Stephan too, I hope he goes next.
